Set in the heart of the jungle, Dzibanche is an example of the architectural majesty and urban organization, is the largest and most important settlement in southern Quintana Roo. This is the best option to see the wonders that have pre-Hispanic Mexico. It is an activity that requires at least 7 hours if the starting point is the Costa Maya port, since it is a considerable distance. It is adaptable to the needs and requirements of the customer or company.

Dzibanche is possibly th biggest and most important settlemen of southern of Quintana Roo occupies an area of just over 40 km. wich is has huge number of monumental architectural and construction quality architectural complexes.
The site's original name is unknown, and Dzibanche is the name of Thomas Gann gave the site during his visit in 1927, the name maya means "writing on wood" and was given byt the finding of wooden lintels with calendrical inscriptions found in the building know as a Temple VI.
Probably the establishment goes back to 200 BC C period in wich they would build variety of platforms and buildings of perishable materials. It is from this date Dzibanche becomes a big city and started with the development of huge construction projects wich can now be seen and that led to its urban and social deployment.
Dzibanche is a complex composed of four major architectural groups worked simultaneously and certainly may have had different functions. Dzibanche group is the mostly widely explored and in this complex are examples of monumental architecture of the Early classic as the Temple of the Lintels, Xibalba Square, The Temple Owl, the Temple of the Cormorants, the Temple of the Captives.
Kinichna all seems to have been an important burial complex with tombs of divine rulers. Along the access road can be seen the progress in the part of the joint exploration and Tutila Lamay.
The Dzibanché group starts with the Temple of the Lintels, this is relatively isolated building, in the first phase constructive design shows a base with sloping walls and checkerboard. In the upper part show a well-preserved temple that corresponds to the second building phase, which highlights a wooden lintel with the date 554 ad.
Continuing the tour, you come to the Plaza Gann, here stands the Temple of the Cormorants, a temple of exceptional height and narrowness, suplemented by small lofts at their ends; it is interesting to note that within the basement was found system of three vaulted chambers, one of wich guarded the remains of a person of high status, accompanied by an offering that included several pieces of pottery, including the polychrome vase that gives name to the building, and a jade mask and various ornaments of the same material; here you can also see the Temple of Captives, basement with several building stages that containied various blocks engraved with representations of captives accompanied by glyphic text that reference the names of the characters, as well as a military conflict would have Dzibanché apparently with Calakmul.
Toward the northeast cormer of the Plaza Gann, is the Plaza Xibalba, which functioned as the main city center. The main structure of the square is the Temple Owl. which is a building with at least three construction phases, the most notable shows the typical characteristics apron moldings Early Classic. In the upper portion of the basement is a temple and one equipped with a cracked sidewalk. During the exploration of this building, they found an internal staircase leading to a chamber containing the remains of a woman of high status, accompanied by an offering with various objects, among which a piece of pottery with the representation of an owl (which names the building), a piece of alabaster with a picture of a monkey and a unique shell showing a figure seated on a throne, adorned with inlaid jade, ruff, pyrite and shell.
Xibalba Plaza is complemented by two palaces, called noth an south, each of which has nine openings or accesses, possibly alluding to the nine levels of the underworld.
Costa Maya Kinichna
The name Kinichna, means "House of the Sun." An effigy of the sun god was found here. There are a few small platform structures and one huge building, the Acropolis. One needs to be very athletic to climb this pyramid! The structure has three complete levels, each from a different era. The temple on top contained the tomb of two people buried with some of the richest Maya jade offerings ever found.
